Lee Julian has over 10 years experience in drill and blast engineering, holds a BSc in mining engineering from UNSW and recognising the increasing importance of data in blasting, he undertook a GC in Statistics at the University of Queensland. He has worked in various operational, statutory and engineering roles onsite and worked as a consultant, travelling internationally. He has been published by the ISEE, Fragblast, ACARP, AusIMM and SME.

John Floyd

John Floyd is an an industry icon. Starting his career in 1976 he founded Blast Dynamics Inc. in 1986, an international blast engineering and consulting firm that focuses on improving productivity and slope stability through the efficient use of explosive energy.  For almost four decades he has assisted clients with reducing overall costs by optimizing their drilling and blasting operations.  Blast Dynamics has conducted training seminars at locations throughout the world.  He has trained over 6,300 individuals to help their respective sites become more productive with the use of proper drilling and blasting techniques.

Dr Miguel Araos

Dr Araos is a chemist with more than 27 years experience working with mining explosives. He has a PhD in detonation physics, MSc in the physical chemistry of surfactants and a BSc in chemistry. Miguel is the Principal of his consultancy STX Technologies.
