Effective Blasting Techniques is a 2 day course that focuses on the control of blast designs for slope protection. Ideal for: drill and blast engineers, advanced shotfirers, drill and blast supervisors, and anyone seeking to take on the role of blast design.
Included topics:
- Defining opportunities for increasing overall slope angles;
- Geological factors that influence slope stability;
- Blast induced slope damage mechanisms;
- The influence of blast vibration on wall stability;
- Defining blast domains within your pit;
- Developing specific design approaches for each blast domain;
- Wall control blast design techniques: modified production, buffer and presplit blasting, air decking and line drilling;
- Drill and explosive selection;
- Quantifying blast performance with the use of borehole cameras, vibration monitors, video cameras and other advanced technology;
- Refining the blast design to achieve optimum results.
Wall Control Techniques will be presented in Brisbane by Lee Julian, director of Blast Ability. The price includes the 2 day course, ProWall blast design calculator, course manual and snacks only. Attendess should bring a windows compatible notebook computer preloaded with Excel for use in the design workshop.
